Stuart N. Brotman Communications Celebrates Twenty Year Anniversary

In 1981, Stuart N. Brotman founded Communication Strategies, Inc., renamed Stuart N. Brotman Communications in 1984. During the past twenty years, the firm has developed an extraordinary record of success for many of the leading communications, Internet, information and entertainment companies and organizations around the world.

Within the United States, we have integrated the knowledge and cultural bases of Wall Street finance, Washington, DC policymaking, Hollywood creativity, Silicon Valley technology and entrepreneurship and the intellectual capital of Boston's best research institutions.

Internationally, our work in Asia, Canada, Western and Central Europe and Latin America has enabled us to provide truly global perspectives for clients with business interests that transcend countries and regions.

Twenty years reflects a sense of history, perspective and accomplishment that is incorporated into each consulting engagement. It reflects advisory work on over $150 billion of deals, and litigation support for over $1 billion in damage claims.

In 1981, as the era of competition and deregulation began, we were there. We developed many of the new business models that have emerged to form successful companies, even whole new market segments. These include music video licensing; regional cable news channels; regional cable sports networks; high-capacity 800 and 900 telephone networks; and Personal Communications Services. And we pioneered new ways of thinking, such as coining "franchise renewal" as the term of art for the cable television industry's long-range regulatory and business planning.

We are called upon to offer first impressions and second looks, to serve as a catalyst for out-of-the box thinking and as a change agent within companies faced with implementing mergers, acquisitions, strategic alliances and corporate reorganizations.

In 2001, we are as cutting edge in our approach and thinking as the first day of operations twenty years ago. In fact, we're better. With our third decade now on the horizon, our aim is to provide knowledge, judgment and wisdom for addressing complex client problems. Equally important, we craft solutions that are distinctive and workable.

Twenty years on, we stand proud as the oldest independent consulting firm focused on the needs of senior executives in the communications, Internet, information and entertainment industries. Many of our peers have retired or moved on, others have been absorbed within larger, more diffuse consulting firms. In fields where change is constant and dynamic, we have remained steady in our focus on client concerns, yet agile in staying several steps ahead of where things seem to be.

Twenty years from now, we are confident that this approach will be as timely as it has been since our inception. So far, it's been an incredible journey for all that we have been privileged to serve.
